How To Clean Your Coffee Maker With Lemon Juice

1. Make sure the coffee maker's basket is empty, and then run a pot of plain, cold water through the coffeemaker.

2. Refill the pot with 1/2 water and 1/2 concentrated lemon juice. Allow the liquid to sit in the coffee maker for 15 minutes.

3. Turn the coffee maker on and run the lemon and water through.

4. Turn the coffee maker off and allow the water to remain in the coffeepot for 15 minutes.

5. Wait for the lemon juice and water to cool. Turn the coffee maker back on and then run the mixture through again.

6. Discard the lemon and water after the second run-through. Fill the pot with plain cold water and run it through the coffee maker to rinse it. Do this twice with fresh cold water each time.

7.  Wash the coffeepot and the filter basket with hot, soapy water.
